General Questions

  • Thermal therapy is the practice that involves alternating hot and cold temperatures, followed by a rest period.

    While this 2,000 year old Nordic ritual is very relaxing, there is something deeper and more alchemic happening in your cells. Thermal therapy is believed to help restore the body and make one feel alive.

  • You can find us on the backside of the old city hall building, located at 90 Alderney Drive. Our entry faces the Harbour, and is just a few steps from the Alderney Ferry Terminal.

  • Nordic Thermal Circuit: A swimsuit and sandals are required.

    Infrared Sauna appointments: Our infrared sauna rooms are completely private, so you can wear whatever you like whether that be loose comfortable clothing, a swimsuit or nothing at all.

    Body Work treatments: You will be asked to undress to your comfort level for body work treatments. All of our practitioners are experts at keeping you covered with a sheet during your treatment.

    Movement studio: Athletic wear is ideal for movement classes.

  • We wish! There is no designated parking at Nature Folk, however there is plenty of street parking nearby, as well as paid parking in the Alderney Landing parking lot (located at 1 Ochterloney Street). Please allow extra time for parking, especially on weekends.

  • Reservations are required and can be booked on our booking website or by giving us a call at 902-469-0274. Weekends are typically sold out in advance as well as same-day appointments. Please plan to book ahead of time so you can reserve your desired time and/or treatments. Walk ins are welcome, pending availability.

  • Phones, cameras, and audio/video recording devices are never allowed.

    We encourage you to unplug, take a break, and leave your phone in your locker or bag during your visit.

  • Nordic Circuit and Infrared Sauna services are reserved for adults of 18 years and over.

    However, we do accept 16- and 17-year-olds with a valid ID and provided they are accompanied by an guardian. Please note that thermal therapy is not recommended for young children and that quiet talking is required on site.

    Minors are welcome to book in for body work treatments, but appointments must be made by a guardian, over the phone. A guardian must also accompany any minor to their appointment.

  • Please be sure to secure your belongings in a locker. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

  • Sorry, we don’t give tours of the facilities to respect the privacy of our guests.
